You’ve got a lot of data across many files. This update makes it easier to query and interact with them, and adds more baseline templates for a wider range of content, plus a few smaller enhancements.
Ask the Data Room
You can now ask a question across your whole Data Room without deciding in advance which files hold the answer. In the Ask tab, leave the file selection empty and Weave finds the relevant files and answers from them. If you do select files, Ask works as before. Picture a medical writer drafting the nonclinical overview who needs to understand which drug lot was used in their mouse studies. Before, they had to know which toxicology and PK reports to open before asking anything. Now they ask the question, get an answer drawn from the files Weave found, and spend their time reviewing those reports instead of hunting for them.
New Template Sets
The right document structure depends on the modality and the application type, and adapting one by hand to fit another is slow and easy to get wrong. The New Template Sets give you a baseline that already matches your program. They span a wide variety of modalities and application types—including biologics, cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and small molecules across IND, BLA, MAA, and NDA filings. They are baselines, so your team’s conventions and preferred language still apply on top of them.
There are a suite of enhancements coming to the templates functionality, so stay tuned for more.
Data Room Enhancements
When a source file changes, the first question is which documents it affects. The new Usage column in the Data Room answers it by showing where each file is used, or would be used, in generation. Say a revised stability report arrives late in a submission. Instead of searching drafts for references to it, you can see in the Data Room which documents draw on it and plan what needs another look. Overview also makes it easier to keep sources in order: you can edit file metadata there directly, filter by data tag, and turn on a toggle that highlights metadata a person has edited, so a QC reviewer can see at a glance which values were corrected by someone on the team.
Also shipped
- HAQ Manager: pick a question file that’s already in the Data Room instead of needing to re-upload it, useful when health authority letters sync in through the Veeva or SharePoint integrations.
- Tracked changes in tables: edits inside table cells now show as tracked changes, so a corrected value in a PK parameter table is visible to reviewers like any other edit.
- Special characters: insert ±, °, µ and similar characters from the toolbar when writing “mean ± SD” or “µg/mL”.
- Editing and Suggesting modes: switch from the top navigation, with a clearer indicator of which mode you’re in.
- User export: admins can export a CSV of all Weave users and their roles from Organization Settings, for example for a periodic access review.
